Wireless streaming from Bluetooth® devices
Your digital music library can be played back from Bluetooth® devices such as smartphones, tablets and portable music players. Once the device is paired with the CD-400U, a wireless connection can be made quickly by simply pressing the pairing button. This enables easy playback of audio files without fussing with cables or file formats.
* The CD-400U can be now individually identified via Bluetooth as "CD-400U-xxxx" (xxxx being the unit's individual number). This applies to units which serial number starts with 206 and upwards only. The serial number can be checked on the unit's rear panel.A built-in AM/FM tuner
The CD-400U accommodates an AM/FM tuner with 20FM + 20AM presets. An independent tuner output connector is equipped on the back, enabling simultaneous playback with other media on the unit.
Analog audio outputs in Balanced and Unbalanced
The CD-400U equips both XLR balanced output and RCA unbalanced connectors. This makes the unit to suit to a wide range of settings, from background music in small facilities such as restaurants and offices to public facilities such as halls.
Remote control via an RS-232C and an Ethernet on option card.
As a standard feature, the CD-400U equips an RS-232C connector, allowing the unit to work with various remote control commands required by contractors. An optional Ethernet card – enabling the same serial control – is scheduled to release in future.
Additional Features
An auxiliary external input connector
The CD-400U equips a stereo mini AUX IN connector on the front panel for easy access., allowing users to play audio from portable music players without Bluetooth® connection.
Versatile dubbing function
Audio from an audio CD or tuner can be dubbed to an SD/SDHC card or USB memory device using only the CD-400U – no need for a computer. Just press the dubbing button and play the audio to start dubbing.
Incremental Play to move to the beginning of the next track
When the Incremental Play function is enabled, the CD-400U skips to the beginning of the next track as the PLAY button is pressed during playback. When the STOP button is pressed during playback, the unit skips to the beginning of the next track and stands by. This is useful for situations such as presentations where tracks are not played to the end.

FAQs
When the CD-400U is paired with a Bluetooth device such as a smartphone, it can now be identified by the unit's serial number*¹.
This makes it possible to identify which device is connected to which unit in locations where multiple CD-400Us are used.
The unit whose serial number has the first three digits after 206 will appear on the Bluetooth device as “CD400U----”. The “----” is a four-digit number that differs for each unit.
This allows each individual CD-400U unit to be identified.
The name of the CD-400U can also be changed using the iOS/iPadOS/Android device functionality*². However, this name is only valid on the iOS/iPadOS /Android device that made the change. Please note that the name displayed on other Bluetooth devices will not be changed.
*1 Please check the rear panel of the device for the serial number.
*2 Please refer to the operating instructions of each device for the renaming function.
