The TASCAM BD-01U is a single-rackspace Blu-ray player for the professional market that can be controlled externally. It is capable of playing DVDs and CDs in addition to Blu-ray discs. It is also possible to play from USB memory devices using the USB terminal. If a USB card reader is connected, playback from SD cards is possible.
It is compatible with BDMV and BD-video standards for Blu-ray, and with VR, AVCHD, and DVD-video standards for DVDs. It can also play various audio formats including WAV, MP3, and WMA. It can be controlled externally with the RS-232C and Ethernet LAN, and functionaity can be remotely controlled via a Network. As a professional-use player, it has Power-ON Play and Panel Lock functions. It is also equipped with XLR balanced audio outputs.
