Firmware update procedures

- Follow the procedures in the Owner's Manual (Software Update in the Player Setup chapter) to update the firmware.
- After uncompressing the file downloaded from the website, there will be three update files.
 Use only the single file for the region where you purchased the product.
 Japanese region: ECN01JH10003AA2.bin

 North American region: ECN00UH10003AA1.bin
 European region: ECP00EH10003AB2.bin
Note: Updating will not be possible if the region of the update file does not match the product being used.

Checking the region
- Check the region code (DVD BD) inscribed on the back of the product.
 Japanese region: 2 A (above and to the left of the RS-232C connector)
 North American region: 1 A (above and to the right of the RS-232C connector)
 European region: 2 B (above and to the left of the RS-232C connector)

Checking the firmware version
- Select "Product Info" from the "Others" Settings menu on the unit to show the current version.


[Precautions when updating]
- Be careful to avoid interrupting the power while updating.
- Do not load or remove media while updating.
- The unit might become unstartable if the power is interrupted or media is loaded or removed while updating.

Fixes in V1.00.03

- If the AC cord was disconnected immediately after changing the LOCK setting (interrupting the AC power),
operation using the unit keys and the remote control would stop functioning.
  This has been fixed.
