Users can freely choose to disable this function to use different devices depending on the application.
Ultra-HDDA mic preamps provide pristine audio quality for both dynamic and condenser mics
Our original Ultra-HDDA mic preamps allow you to input high-quality audio from any audio source just by turning a knob. These are the same concept of mic preamps that are in our HS-P82 professional recorders, which are popular in the broadcast and film industry. These versatile preamps can handle both condenser and dynamic mics with enough gain range, and will allow you to enjoy high-quality recording even if you are not an expert. These versatile preamps also feature line-level inputs for keyboards and other equipment.
Built-in Ultra-HDDA mic preamps have discrete construction that achieve −127dBu EIN
XLR input allows the input of condenser mics with the balanced connection
Wider dynamic range supports dynamic microphone use
Guitars can be directly connected enabling the use of 3rd-party plug-in effects
RCA stereo input complies with external audio devices such as cassette recorder
Built-in Ultra-HDDA mic preamps have discrete construction that achieve −127dBu EIN
Ultra-HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) mic preamps - which are under original TASCAM design - use discrete construction. With these preamps, TASCAM has achieved an EIN rating of -127 dBu, (EIN is a value measurement of the absence of noise). With other ratings that include a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dB, we have achieved an extremely high level of audio performance. The key electronic components were selected through extensive listening tests.
XLR input allows the input of condenser mics with the balanced connection
Since the XLR inputs support +48V phantom power, any condenser mic can be used. In addition, the TRS input jacks support balanced connections, which are less susceptible to noise.
Wider dynamic range supports dynamic microphone use
Because of the dynamic microphone’s design, its output is much lower than a condenser mic. In order for an interface to have sufficient signal input for optimum recording, a wider range of input sensitivity is needed. The US-1x2 has a wide 57dB input gain range, so optimum signal level is available when using dynamic microphones.
Guitars can be directly connected enabling the use of 3rd-party plug-in effects
You can also add effect plug-ins for your guitar tone by plugging your guitar to IN2 connector directly.
* Guitar effect plug-ins are sold separately.
RCA stereo input complies with external audio devices such as guitar pedals
On the back of the device also contains RCA IN stereo connectors which allow the US-1x2 to connect to external audio equipment such as cassette player and turntables. It also supports external guitar pedals with multi-effects and a synthesizer through line inputs.
A simple-designed model configured with an user-friendly software, no more complicated setup
When starting to use an audio interface for the first time, we know that customers often get stuck during the installation and configuration. In addition, you had to check the latest version for the driver each time the OS updates. With these kinds of concerns, we completely change our concept of the design on the new US-1x2, both on hardware and software. Not only high sound quality and easy-to-use features on the unit but also versatile function on the software are available to new users.

High resolution recording up to 96kHz/24-bit
Recording formats up to 96kHz/24-bit - which far exceeds CD quality (44.1kHz/16-bit). But, be assured that even while recording at lower sampling rates, the Ultra-HDDA mic preamps enable recording quality that surpasses competing products.
USB 2.0 computer connection
USB 2.0, which is supported by most computer manufacturers, is used for computer connection. Simply connect the interface to any available USB port. USB 2.0 will provide sufficient bandwidth when recording in the 96kHz/24-bit format. (The US-1x2 are also compatible with USB 3.0 port)
Zero-latency direct monitoring function
Musicians need to be able to hear their own performances when recording. Latency is a common issue, so direct monitoring is used to monitor the input signal before it is sent to the computer. This allows the user to perform in-time and stress-free while monitoring a signal that has absolutely no delay.
Direct Monitoring balance (Input and output volume balance) can be adjusted in the Settings Panel.

Input signal(Input) :
This is for configuring the IN1 and IN2 signals. IN1 and IN2 are the usual left and right channels in music production, especially when using a DAW. However, it is not ideal to use it on the online broadcast and voice calls because the voice may be panned in right and left unevenly during a conversation. This setting allows both voice and direct monitoring sound to be sent to both ends.
External Effects (ASIO) :
On the US-1x2, the signal passes through two types of sound drivers, from ASIO to WDM. In this case, please choose whether you want the signal bypass the ASIO driver or not. If you are using the ASIO type software, check the External Effects (ASIO) box ON. Otherwise, the signal won’t go through.
Loopback :
This function enables you to send an audio signal from your PC to other end and return back and forth. This can be utilized when you want your music files be played in the channel during your online broadcast.
Mic Monitor :
When the ASIO is selected ON, by selecting Mic Monitor mode, you are able to monitor your input sound with ASIO mixed effects. It is a different function from the Direct Monitor in the Settings where you can only monitor the mic individually. However, in the case of using a Mic Monitor function, you can monitor not only the mic input but also the loopback sound simultaneously.
PC Audio Out (Output) :
On the online broadcast or Internet voice calls software, there is situation where the software does not comply with Stereo Input. In this case, set it to Mono Input. You may not be able to monitor by using the Mono Input since it only delivers the PC sounds. If you want to use any online broadcast software that works with Stereo Input, select Stereo Input.
A multi-WDM driver supports the online voice call like Skype
When you want to play songs from PC to share the jam with friends during a conversation over an Internet voice call service, you are required to select a playback device on the Sound settings manually. In general, each driver has only one playback device and one recording device shown on the Sound settings. The multi-WDM Driver comes with multiple playback and recording devices with more audio route selections in order to prevent the feedback noise that may disturb your conversation.
* Please select [Mixing Driver 1 for US-1x2] and click [Set Default] on Sound settings
