DA-3000
High Definition Audio Master Recorder
The DA-3000 is a professional recording device that is a must-have for recording engineers, given that this device alone can meet both the needs of leaving a master sound file at a high quality and the needs of monitoring audio in any studio at a high quality.
By installing it into a DAW production environment, not only will the daily monitoring environment become stable and improved, high-resolution master recording at high sampling becomes possible.
This model has been discontinued.
Stereo recording at high sampling frequencies up to 192kHz PCM and 5.6MHz DSD
In addition to recording at 192kHz PCM, the DA-3000 can handle DSD2.8/5.6MHz recording, allowing users to record their audio by selecting a recording method that matches the characteristics of their music.
The readily available and easily transferable SDHC card and CF card were selected as the memory media in order to achieve high operational efficiency.
Simultaneous operation of multiple units is possible, achieving synchronized operation of both recording and playback at a sample-level precision.
A DSD multi-track recording environment can also be established.
Various input terminals have been installed in light of connection with professional acoustic equipment.
Analogue input and outputs include RCA/XLR, with PCM digital input and output including RCA COAXIAL and XLR AES/EBU. Of course, DSD digital connection is also available, and as such, a BNC SDIF-3 input/out terminal has been installed.
Dual mono circuits eliminate interference between left and right channels
Another feature of the DA-3000 that makes it more than merely a master recorder, is its high-quality audio circuit that can also be used as an AD/DA converter.
In order to assure high-quality audio output, the EI core transformer with separate coils for digital and analog circuits was applied to the power supply unit.
In addition, a dual mono circuit that is equipped with two high quality mono circuits was used for the output audio circuit.
These features reduce noise for both the input and output terminals, maintaining balance throughout the entire audio circuits.
The importance of clocks in digital audio needs no explanation, and as such, careful measures were taken for clock accuracy.
A TCXO that boasts 1-ppm precision was installed, resulting in digital audio processing based on a high-precision clock that matches a standalone clock generator device.
Professional master recorder/ADDA converter that meets today’s needs
Since its foundation in 1953, TEAC Corporation has been selling numerous stereo recorders.
Starting with open reel, TEAC kept handling various media, including cassette, CD, DAT, and MD, with 2001 seeing the release of the DS-D98 that supported DSD recording.
The DA-3000 can be characterized as its spiritual successor, as it is a professional-level stereo master recorder/ADDA converter that is perfect for contemporary recording settings.

Firmware | V2.05 |
- If recording was started when SYNC REC was ON and the AUTO TRACK mode selection was not OFF, depending on the input source, sometimes recording could not be resumed, tracks that should have been recorded disappeared, and errors occurred and recording stopped. This has been fixed.

FAQs
- Press MENU three times
- Select ADDA Direct with the Multi Jog knob
- Press the Multi Jog knob to select and turn that on
There are a few possible causes for this. First make sure that the DA-3000 is in the correct sample rate as the digital input is receiving in the "Rec File" menu. However that is the sample rate that new audio will be recorded with – the unit may currently be in a different sample rate.
For example: Play a 48k file from the card, set the new sample rate to 88.2k in the menu, then change the clock source to Digital In or Word Clock. The unit is still in 48k mode, so you will see the clocking error message. If you press the home button then press record, the unit should switch to the new sample rate.
If that doesn't work, check the audio on the transmission side. For example, an older A/D converter may be set for "bit splitting mode" over two outputs, instead of "double speed" mode that the DA-3000 expects.
The first version of the DA-3000 can only be updated using a Compact Flash card. Please put the latest firmware on a CF card and update from that. After version 1.01, an SD card can be used.
No, this feature isn't supported. You can't connect several DA-3000s and use them like a multitrack tape deck. You can start recording or playback on all of them at the same time. This gives you files that all start at the same time.
A USB hard drive is not supported, but may work if:
- It has a seperate power supply (not buss powered)
- It is formatted FAT32
USB can be used for playback only, you can't record to a USB device. You can record on one fo the card slots and then transfer that to the USB flash drive.
The DA-3000 can reformat a USB drive for better playback performance. You can use a USB flash drive as-is, but at higher sampling rates the media may not be able to play back fast enough and playback may stop.
