TASCAM, a leading innovator in professional audio solutions, today announced firmware update version 1.10 for the FR-AV4 32-Bit Float 4-Channel Field Recorder with Mixer, Timecode Generator and HDMI Sync introducing a powerful Auto Mixer feature designed to streamline audio mixing for meetings, interviews, panel discussions, and environments where multi-microphone speaking environments will be recorded.

The new Auto Mixer function intelligently manages multiple microphone inputs by prioritizing the microphone currently in use while smoothly attenuating unused channels. This significantly reduces ambient noise and improves overall mix clarity while highlighting important speakers. Set from the physical unit itself, or from the TASCAM Recorder Connect app for additional versatility desired parameters mobility. This update drives the FR-AV4 to an even more impressive solution for journalists, content creators, corporate AV teams, and many other audio professionals.

While Auto Mix is a feature many will be familiar with, TASCAM has taken a gain sharing approach. Gain sharing Auto Mix allows the FR-AV4 to balance channel gain across all active microphones while stabilizing output levels, resulting in a transparent mix that preserves the presence of all microphones which is especially useful for interviews, speeches or conferences.
