TASCAM Announces the V2.2 Firmware Update for the Sonicview Series Digital Consoles

TEAC Corporation, Tokyo, Japan - June 2025... TASCAM is pleased to announce the V2.2 firmware update for the company’s Sonicview Digital Mixing Consoles. In addition to bringing a wealth of new functionality to the Sonicview consoles, users can take advantage of enhanced Ember+ compatibility—now supporting control of numerous parameters across the console.

With Ember+ control protocols now open to the public, broadcasters and integrators gain greater flexibility to build centralized, remote-controlled systems across a variety of applications.

Upcoming integration with Mixing Station App—expected in summer 2025 on App Store and Google Play—will allow performers to control their own monitor mixes from iOS or Android devices. Ideal for live music environments, this personal mixing workflow reduces reliance on FOH or monitor engineers and helps each musician fine-tune their mix for greater clarity and confidence on stage.

The V2.2 firmware update also provides a Routing Matrix screen that conforms to the idea of what people expect from such a function. Previously, no routing matrix was present and to achieve this capability, it had to be done from a standardized input/output tab. The new Routing Matrix overview screen is a quick graphic that enables users to easily see each channel along with their listed input and output. The benefit of the Routing Matrix is a screen dedicated to all routing across the entire console, as opposed to having to check each individual channel.

Another noteworthy benefit of the V2.2 firmware update is an enhancement to the User Key. Sonicview User Keys have been extended / expanded using the LCD screen for up to 64 additional keys. This expansion is in addition to the original 18 User Keys. The benefit of the User Key enhancement is greater flexibility and more options to program functions that are frequently used. Additionally, the new User Defined Control Library feature allows users to store and recall multiple User Key, GPIO, and Foot Switch configurations, making it easy to switch between custom setups for different workflows or users.

The V2.2 update also brings Port to Port Direct Routing to the Sonicview consoles. This new function enables users to establish signal direction connecting between the Input Router and the Output Router on the Sonicview consoles, allowing for a greater number of input/output ports to be utilized.

Another important feature of the V2.2 update is the Added Input Source A/B. With this capability, users can now add two input sources to one module while easily switching between the two. This capability is of particular benefit when the Sonicview console is used in a broadcast environment.

In addition, more than 20 new features have been added to improve workflow and user experience in all applications, including broadcast, live audio, and installations.
